Tony Ortiz just posted this link on Facebook, accompanied by the following text:
Help us raise $2500 in 3 days to complete filming The crowd funding campaign for the independent film by Jason Woodford about Keith Emerson has 3 days to go. If you’re not able to contribute yourself that’s fine but please at least share the link as it might catch the eye of one of your movie or ELP loving friends - Let us know if you will be looking out for the movie when it’s released. Your input would be really appreciated and help with distributors and broadcasters. We intend to be entering Film Festivals in 2014 if there is one near you let us know thanks!!!!
Please donate if you are able!
ELP - Oh, My Father
Originally recorded during the Tarkus sessions, but not released until the 2012 remaster. A deeply personal and emotional piece about the death of Greg’s father. Absolutely take some time to listen to this.
And another, this time from 1992 for Canada’s MuchMusic. The fashion speaks for itself really.
An ELP interview from Rio in 1997 featuring chest rugs, inappropriate shorts, Greg’s earring being incredibly distracting and discussion of ideas that never happened (you may weep softly at that last bit).
Also: in 1982, Jon tried to form a trio with the Wake Man and Keith Emerson. Because the music gods hate us, this never happened.
Happy birthday, Keith. :)
I just made this so you can understand the band better
a very young Carl Palmer
